Symantec Hosts Chinese Ministry of Commerce Delegation
April 24, 2009 On Friday, April 24th, 2009, Symantec was honored to host a delegation from the Chinese Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) at Symantec’s world headquarters in Cupertino, CA. The delegation was met by Joe FitzGerald, vice president and deputy general counsel of Symantec, and Adam Rak, senior director of Symantec Public Affairs, along with other representatives of the company.
The meeting was part of MOFCOM’s mission trip to the United States to foster trade and business between the two countries. Representatives of Symantec at the meeting voiced Symantec’s commitment to continued investment in the China market and support of the further development of the U.S. and China’s bilateral trade relationship.
The meeting also touched upon Symantec’s China Development Center, illustrating Symantec’s R&D investment as well as long-term commitment to the Chinese market. In addition, Symantec’s joint venture with Huawei was profiled as a demonstration of Symantec’s engagement with and willingness to collaborate with local industries in the Chinese market.
