California State Assembly members Visit Symantec Headquarters
July 30, 2009 On Thursday, July 30th, 2009, Symantec hosted two members of California’s State Assembly at Symantec’s world headquarters in Mountain View, CA. Assemblymembers Jerry Hill of San Mateo and Paul Fong of Cupertino were hosted by Joe FitzGerald, vice president of Symantec Legal and deputy general counsel. In addition, the delegation was joined by Adam Rak, senior director, Symantec Public Affairs.
The meeting’s purpose was to provide the members with a background of Symantec and communicating Symantec’s expertise on the areas privacy and security with regards to the Internet and online activity.
Symantec’s representatives were also able to update the Assemblymembers on Symantec’s effort to leverage information from its Global Intelligence Network to support efforts by Teri Takai, California’s CIO, in combating cyber threats posed to the state of California’s computer network and online information of its citizens.
