Symantec CEO Enrique Salem Meets With Argentina’s President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner
September 8, 2009 As part of his visit to Latin America, Symantec CEO Enrique Salem met with Argentina’s President Cristina Fernandes de Kirchner in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Salem met with the president as part of the ceremonies associated with the opening of the new Symantec Center in Buenos Aires. During the visit, President Kirchner described Symantec as “the most important company in the world dedicated to protecting the IT systems and information for Fortune 500 companies.”
During his visit, Salem also met with:
- Lino Baranao of Argentina’s national office of Science, Technology, and Innovation
- Daniel Scioli, governor of the province of Buenos Aires
- Enrique Garcia, intendant of the province of Buenos Aires
Symantec established the operations center to expand the company’s local and regional support footprint throughout Latin America, reflecting the continued growth of technology adoption throughout the region. Buenos Aires in particular offers a rich talent pool and robust IT infrastructure for Symantec’s operations there.
