"By extending virus protection to this environment, the Norton AntiVirus Scanner for Windows NT provides a great opportunity for Symantec to further its commitment to providing complete, cross-platform virus protection."

Windows NT Virus Protection
Windows NT is not immune to virus infections. In many instances, Windows NT will prevent viruses from spreading where DOS or Windows 95 will not, but there are a number of common viruses that can still infect Windows NT and cause significant damage to programs, data, and the operating system itself. Windows NT is also frequently a file server for DOS and Windows 95 workstations and while NT is not at risk of becoming infected by viruses in these files, the client workstations are vulnerable.

The Norton AntiVirus Scanner for Windows NT is specifically designed to scan for all forms of viruses that can infect DOS, Windows 95 and Windows NT systems, and to repair boot and file viruses on Windows NT systems.

Norton AntiVirus Scanner for Windows NT provides the highest level of virus protection and the fastest, most transparent virus scanning available. NAVSCAN NT identifies thousands of known PC virus variations and features easy-to-use customization of antivirus protection. Users can scan an entire disk or set of disks, a particular folder and all its files, or a specific file for virus infection. Virus scanning can be performed upon request by immediately initiating the scan or by scheduling the scan to occur at a predetermined time.
