CUPERTINO, Calif. --January 24, 1997-- Symantec Corporation (Nasdaq: SYMC) announced today that the company last week was presented with a coveted partner appreciation award from Merisel Inc. (Nasdaq: MSEL) at a first-annual awards ceremony on Jan. 15 in Santa Monica, attended by more than 170 people. Awarded "Best All-Around Partner" in the software category, Symantec joined other vendors from the peripherals, systems, and storage industries honored by Merisel.

Nearly 500 manufacturers were eligible for awards in thirteen categories, including the 'Best All-Around Partner' category.
