CompUSA Names Symantec As Software Vendor Of The Year

CUPERTINO, Calif. -- August 18, 1997 -- Symantec Corporation (Nasdaq: SYMC), the leading provider of utilities, anti-virus, and communications software, was awarded Vendor-of-the-Year for Productivity Software by CompUSA Inc. at CompUSA's 1997 General Managers Meeting at the Wyndam Anatole Hotel in Dallas, TX on Thursday, August 14, 1997. Criteria that were considered for this prestigious award included: product quality, marketing partnership, and commitment to growth. Symantec has the distinction of being the only supplier to win this award twice.
