Symantec Products Continue To Meet Users' Needs, As Recent Awards Indicate

Multiple products win awards from ENT Magazine

CUPERTINO, Calif. --Sept. 3, 1997-- Symantec Corporation (Nasdaq:SYMC) today announced that Norton Utilities for Windows NT, pcANYWHERE, WinFax Pro, Visual Café Pro, and dbANYWHERE were named ENT magazine's 1997 Readers Choice winners in their respective product categories. Readers voted Norton Utilities for Windows NT the best utility software, pcANYWHERE32 the best communications/gateway product, WinFax Pro the best fax software, Visual Café Pro the best web development tool, and dbANYWHERE the best database software.

Conducted annually, the ENT Readers Choice Awards program reflects the votes of its 80,000 subscribers, who also are purchasers of Windows NT corporate products. Readers are allowed to vote once. Votes submitted by advertisers and non-audited readers are not counted.
