As the number of Microsoft Exchange users grows exponentially every day, so does the possibility of distributing potentially devastating viruses. Norton AntiVirus for Microsoft Exchange scans all incoming files and attachments in real time, and uses Symantec's superior Bloodhound heuristic technology to detect as well as repair both unknown and known viruses at the groupware server before they reach the desktop or the network. With the inclusion of Bloodhound, Norton AntiVirus for MS Exchange leads the current anti-virus product field in virus detection and removal.
Administrators can use the management console in Norton AntiVirus for Microsoft Exchange for flexible, centralized virus administration that eliminates the need to move from one server to another to change a setting or monitor virus activity. In addition, installing and configuring Norton AntiVirus for MS Exchange on remote servers can be accomplished from a single central console.
Administrators will find Norton AntiVirus for Microsoft Exchange easy to use and configure. With features such as e-mail alerting for repair and quarantine notification, HTML-based configuration and documentation, and a log update detailing critical events, administrators receive the information they need to help them maintain a virus-free environment.
Sustaining a clean system is achieved with other features that also minimize performance impact to servers. A new feature called OneScan™ eases administration by scanning message attachments only once--regardless of the number of intended recipients. In addition, Norton AntiVirus for Microsoft Exchange uses a feature called scan-caching to reduce performance degradation. Also used in Norton AntiVirus for Windows NT Servers and NetWare, Scan-caching tags files when they are scanned, so the next time a scan is run, tagged files are skipped, unless the file has changed.
To ensure that virus definitions are current, administrators can simply use LiveUpdate to download up-to-the-minute definitions and ensure that each server remains completely protected against the latest threats. These updates are automatically delivered and fully tested at all times.

Norton AntiVirus for Microsoft Exchange will be available in July and will be priced at $795 per server with 25 users. Site licenses are also available.
Norton AntiVirus for Microsoft Exchange requires an Intel system running Windows NT Server 3.51 with Service Pack 4 or 4.0 with Service Pack 3, Microsoft Exchange Server version 4.0 or higher, 64MB of RAM minimum, 20MB of free hard disk space and Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Internet Explorer versions 3.0 or higher.
