Symantec and Teleadapt Help Norton Mobile Essentials Customers Connect from Anywhere

Cupertino, Calif. --May 15, 1998-- Symantec Corporation (Nasdaq: SYMC), a leader in mobile software applications, announced today an agreement with TeleAdapt Inc, a leading provider of mobile connectivity solutions, to help laptop customers successfully connect from around the globe. TeleAdapt will make it easy for Norton Mobile Essentials customers to connect by providing an international database featuring telephone and power adapters for more than 270 countries worldwide. Norton Mobile Essentials lets users establish and maintain reliable connections and ensures that mobile professionals can communicate effectively from anywhere in the world.

With the TeleAdapt information provided in the Before Your Go feature of Norton Mobile Essentials, customers will be able to look-up their intended destination to easily determine the required adapters needed to establish a communication connection for their laptop and modem. Users will be able to link directly to the TeleAdapt website, where they may purchase adapters and other connectivity tools on-line. Norton Mobile Essentials customers will have access to a wealth of supplemental connectivity support information. TeleAdapt will also maintain toll-free telephone access for Norton Mobile Essentials customers. So, if a customer is traveling to Australia or Japan, they can easily access the database in Norton Mobile Essentials to locate the appropriate adapter information, plus they have the option to instantly purchase the adapter.
