Cupertino, Calif. June 8, 1999 - Symantec Corporation (Nasdaq: SYMC) today announced it is now offering Standard Care support to Procomm Connections 4.6 and Procomm Plus32 4.7 customers. Standard Care provides 90 days of free support via telephone or through newsgroups. The 90 day period begins with a customers first call to the Standard Care Service.

Procomm customers can receive Standard Care support by calling 541-465-8680 between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. EST for installation and configuration assistance. For Standard Care customers who prefer to use online services, Symantec offers the Procomm Newsgroup. The newsgroup enables Procomm Standard Care customers to post messages, free of charge, to Symantec technical support reps and is available from the Symantec Tech Support web site at http://www.symantec.com/techsupp. Responses to queries are returned within 24 hours and are either posted on the web site or, if the Procomm customer has set up a personalized tech support web page, are sent to the customer's web page.
Priority Support is available as well for these products between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. EST by calling 800-339-1136 (with a charge of $29.95) or by calling 900-226-2514 (with a charge of $2.95 per minute). Chat Now!, Symantec's priority, interactive online service, (with a charge of 19.95) is also available to Procomm customers. With Chat Now!, customers can receive instant technical support, communicate with a live technician, and access important files and documentation online. In addition, Symantec offers Procomm Plus v4.7 and Procomm Connection v4.6 customers ASPECT scripting and consulting services. Available from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. EST, these fee-based services allow Symantec engineers to design and author scripts, tailored to customers' specific needs, to automate communications tasks. Procomm ASPECT scripting and consulting services can be accessed by calling 800-234-7774.
