CUPERTINO, Calif. — Jan. 3, 2000 - Symantec Corporation (Nasdaq: SYMC) today announced that it has completed the sale of its Visual Café product line to a newly formed company owned by BEA Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: BEAS) and Warburg, Pincus Ventures.
The companies announced Dec. 13, 1999, that a newly formed company would acquire the Visual Café product line and its principal assets for a one-time cash payment of $75 Million.
Symantec will provide a variety of support services for the Visual Café product line for up to six months after the closing to ensure a smooth transition for existing customers.
