Symantec Records More Than 500 Percent Increase In Revenue From Electronic Resellers In 1999

Symantec Gives Second Annual E-Commerce Partner Awards to Recognize Role of Electronic Resellers and Distributors in On-line Success

CUPERTINO, Calif. - Feb. 29, 2000 -- Symantec Corporation (Nasdaq: SYMC) recently announced record increases in revenue from electronic resellers in 1999. Symantec's software sales through on-line partners grew 578 percent over the previous year.

In recognition of this achievement, Symantec has presented their second annual E-Commerce Partner Awards to three on-line partners whose sales performance during 1999 contributed to the record increase in revenues for Symantec.

As the fastest growing and most productive Symantec on-line retail partner, was presented the Electronic Reseller of the Year award. Digital River was awarded the Electronic Distributor of the Year award for showing an ability to successfully execute Symantec programs and promotions, as well as for continuing to lead the way in electronic software distribution (ESD). Finally, Symantec's partnership with was named Deal of the Year based on the strong sales of Symantec products resulting from the launch of Amazon.com¹s software site in November 1999.
