(Nasdaq: SYMC) today announced its co-sponsorship of the Information Assurance Advisory Council (IAAC), a newly formed independent membership forum which brings together commercial, government and academic organizations in the United Kingdom to focus on the development of policies on information assurance and critical infrastructure protection.
The IAAC is dedicated to the provision of objective research and analysis into national and international policy implications of protecting the critical information infrastructures that underpin e-commerce.
UK-based companies and central and local government departments that join the IAAC will receive latest information on Information Assurance and benefit from IAAC¹s on-going research. In addition, members will also be able to leverage the IAAC to influence government policy.
Government bodies including the Cabinet Office and the Communications-Electronic Security Group (CESG), as well as King¹s College London and companies such as BT, the Post Office and BAE Systems, are members of the IAAC alongside Symantec, a world leader in Internet security technology.
