CUPERTINO, Calif. - April 25, 2000 -- Symantec Corporation (Nasdaq: SYMC) today announced that Norton AntiVirus Enterprise Solution 7.0 and Norton AntiVirus 2000 won PC Magazine’s coveted Editors’ Choice awards for corporate and retail anti-virus utilities. The awards were announced in PC Magazine’s May 2000 edition.

Norton AntiVirus Enterprise Solution 7.0 topped the corporate anti-virus category. According to PC Magazine editors, "Norton AntiVirus Enterprise Solution 7.0 was the easiest to install, and its Symantec System Center provides all the tools you need to deploy, configure, and update all of the Symantec antivirus clients and servers on the LAN." Editors went on to claim that Symantec provides the best and most flexible virus definition updating of any of the products they tested.
For the fourth year in a row Norton AntiVirus 2000 has been named Editors’ Choice in PC Magazine’s retail antivirus category. According to the publication’s editors, Symantec’s solution detected and cleaned every virus tested, while leaving the largest number of user macros untouched. "Our Editors’ Choice remains the same....Symantec’s Norton AntiVirus 2000 provides the best antivirus protection in this roundup," said PC Magazine’s editors. Norton AntiVirus 2000 bested a field of five, including McAfee VirusScan and Panda Software’s Panda Antivirus Platinum.
Prestigious awards from influential publications continue to be acquired by Symantec’s Norton AntiVirus Corporate Edition 7.0. Network Magazine recently named Symantec’s corporate virus solution Network Anti-virus Product of the Year. Norton AntiVirus Corporate Edition 7.0 was also recently recognized at the Secure Computing Millennium Awards where it was awarded the Secure Computing Readers Trust Award for Best Anti-virus Product 2000, the Academy Award for Best Anti-virus Product 2000 and the Principle Award for Best Security Software overall.
