Symantec Boosts Remote Support Capabilities with pcAnywhere Plus For Tivoli Enterprise

System Administrators, Help Desk Personnel Benefit from Speed and Reliability of pcAnywhere

CUPERTINO, Calif. - May 24, 2000 - Symantec Corp. (Nasdaq: SYMC) today announced pcAnywhere plus for Tivoli Enterprise, a product that will boost remote support capabilities for Tivoli system administrators and help desk personnel. pcAnywhere is currently the preferred product choice of IT professionals worldwide for remote troubleshooting and helpdesk support.

pcAnywhere plus offers Tivoli Enterprise administrators fast and reliable performance. System administrators and help desk personnel can:

  • create rules on Tivoli's console that serve as the foundation for increased reliability and security. For example, if end users are attempting to run pcAnywhere in a non-secure manner, Tivoli will be able to locate the pcAnywhere host and automatically shut it down.
  • manage local and remote systems via Tivoli Enterprise to provide support over the network and with low-bandwidth and RAS connections.
  • support any managed Windows desktop directly from the Service Desk console.

In addition to support for Tivoli, pcAnywhere also integrates with other system and desktop managed solutions such as Microsoft SMS and CA Unicenter TNG.
