Symantec's pcAnywhere Wins Well-connected Award from Network Computing

CUPERTINO, Calif. - May 25, 2000 - Symantec Corp. (Nasdaq: SYMC) today announced that pcAnywhere received Network Computing’s Well-Connected Award in the category of Remote Control, and was named by the magazine as one of the top 50 products of the year.

"The industry has long recognized that Network Computing reserves its Well-Connected Awards for products that pass the rigorous and exacting requirements of a tough team of editors," said Gail Hamilton, senior vice president, Enterprise Solutions Division, Symantec Corporation. "We are honored that Network Computing's editors rate Symantec’s pcAnywhere as a top performing product."

"Being a Well-Connected Award winner or finalist is a special honor because it’s a true reflection of product quality rather than merely product popularity or marketing effectiveness," said Network Computing editor Dave Molta. "Editors don’t nominate a product simply because it’s been hyped . . . editors select products because they work and they’ve survived the abuse we inflict on them in our Real-World Labs."

Symantec's pcAnywhere received the Well-Connected Award based on the product’s exceptional management features, security, and speed. It is the preferred product choice of IT professionals worldwide for remote troubleshooting and helpdesk support, and for providing connectivity for remote and mobile users. Administrators use Symantec’s pcAnywhere to reduce end-user support costs, solve user problems more quickly and easily, and remotely administer networks and enterprise-wide information systems.

The Well-Connected Award is the latest in a series of honors Symantec’s pcAnywhere has received from numerous magazines throughout the product’s history. Additional industry accolades include: Product of the Year from Mobile Computing and Communications, Network Magazine, and InfoWorld; Editor’s Choice from Network Computing and PC Magazine; Analyst’s Choice from PC Week; Integrator’s Choice from Network VAR; and World Class Award from PC World.
