Symantec Opens Office in Turkey

Brings the Total Number of Offices in Europe, Middle East and Africa to 30

CUPERTINO, Calif. - April 13, 2001 - Symantec Corp. (Nasdaq: SYMC), today announced the opening of an office in Istanbul, Turkey. This brings the total number of offices in the company’s Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region to 30 in 22 countries.

"Turkey is emerging as one of the fastest growing markets in the eastern Mediterranean region," said Guiseppe Verrini, vice president of sales, marketing and services, EMEA for Symantec. The new office will be instrumental in working with the Turkish channel to sell and market Symantec's range of Internet security solutions to consumers and businesses in the Turkish and Eastern Mediterranean region.
