Symantec to Discuss Building an E-Business Security Framework at ISACA Conference

CUPERTINO, Calif. - April 20, 2001 - Symantec Corp. (Nasdaq: SYMC), a world leader in Internet security technology, today announced that Richard Tripp, product manager at Symantec, will speak at the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) Los Angeles Chapter Spring Conference on Tuesday, April 24. Tripp will speak on Building an E-Business Security Framework during the 1:40 p.m. session of the conference.

"E-business security provides the ability to safely manage the risk of information assets and facilitate business processes to gain business advantage," Tripp said. "A strong e-business security solution must protect all components of today's computing environment."

During the three-hour session, Tripp will focus on effective e-business security, discussing how to assess system vulnerabilities, protect against intruders, enable access for authorized users and manage security across the environment.

The ISACA Spring Conference runs April 23-25 in Los Angeles. The conference targets information systems audit and security professionals from the consultancy and industry sectors. ISACA is a worldwide organization that provides up-to-date information for professionals in the converging disciplines of auditing, data processing, accounting, data security and quality assurance.

As product manager, Tripp is involved in developing strategies and direction for Symantec's intrusion detection products. Prior to joining Symantec, Tripp worked for Novell, Inc.'s collaboration software division on their email product, GroupWise.
