Symantec's Global Web Support Site Named One of 2001's Ten Best by Association of Support Professionals

Symantec Is The Only Company To Make The ASP List Every Year Since Its Inception

CUPERTINO, Calif. - Sept. 5, 2001 - The Association of Support Professionals (ASP) announced that, for the fourth year in a row, Symantec's global Web-based customer support site has been named one of the ten best Web support sites of the year. Symantec's site provides customers with quick and easy answers to their technical questions, as well as access to troubleshooting tools.

While Web-based support sites can reduce telephone traffic and cost per troubleshooting transaction, customers often become frustrated if they can't quickly and easily find the answers they are searching for. The Association of Support Professionals strives to recognize companies that successfully overcome the challenges inherent in Web-based support. Their annual "Ten Best Web Support Sites" project recognizes those companies that have gone above and beyond in a number of categories including overall usability, content quality and interactivity.

A panel of 41 judges used a quantitative scoring system to assign a numerical score of zero to four to a series of 25 questions. Each site was scored in terms of the quality of its navigation, knowledgebase content, interactive features, personalization, and success at overcoming major development challenges.
