Symantec Expert to Discuss Wireless Security at Healthcare IT Conference

CUPERTINO, Calif. - May 10, 2002 - Symantec Corp. (Nasdaq:SYMC), the world leader in Internet security, today announced that Jason Conyard, Director of Wireless Product Management, will offer a tutorial on practical security steps for wireless applications at the Toward An Electronic Patient Record Conference in Seattle, WA. Conyard's tutorial is scheduled for 8 a.m. PDT on Sunday, May 12, 2002 at the Washington State Convention Center.

Jason Conyard is an expert on the global communications marketplace. The past 12 years have found him working on six continents handling the regulatory, technical and commercial aspects of worldwide communications projects.

Conyard currently serves as Symantec Corporation's Director of Wireless Product Management. In this capacity, he is responsible for mapping out Symantec's global response to wireless security threats.

The Toward An Electronic Patient Record Conference is produced by the Medical Records Institute and covers all aspects of healthcare information technology. The event focuses on healthcare IT implementation and integration, issues surrounding mobile computing, security and privacy measures, and return on investment from IT solutions.
