Symantec Offers Webcast on Enterprise Security Manager for HIPAA

New Security Module Will Aid Healthcare Organizations Seeking Compliance with Pending Security Regulations

CUPERTINO, Calif. -- January 29, 2003 - Symantec Corp. (NASDAQ: SYMC), the world leader in Internet security, today announced that it will host a Webcast offering an overview of Symantec Enterprise Security Manager (ESM) with the newly configured Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) Application Security Module. The Webcast, titled "Understanding HIPAA: A Security Perspective" will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2003 at 8 a.m. PST. Symantec executives Louis J. Carpenito CISSP, vice president, information security business strategy, and Ronald Van Geijn, director of product management, will be key presenters during this Webcast. They will discuss how healthcare organizations can proactively secure their environments using Symantec's Policy Compliance solutions. In addition, attendees will learn how to drive down total cost of ownership and reduce corporate risk by automating and centralizing their security policy compliance management and security assessments using Symantec Enterprise Security Manager.
