CUPERTINO, Calif. -- January 29, 2003 - Symantec, the world leader in Internet security technology, today announced that attendees of all Symantec Education Services Webcasts and Seminar Series will be eligible to earn Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits.
The CPE credits will be awarded to security professionals who are already certified by the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium (ISC)2. Johnston, CISSP, manager of credentialing services for (ISC) 2. "We are pleased to be working with Symantec to provide our members with excellent educational opportunities and additional options to maintain their certifications."
"Symantec Education Services leverages its security experts to help organizations reduce the burden of maintaining their own internal training programs, while delivering skills that enrich careers and improve staff retention," said Jörg Sikatzki, senior director, Symantec Education Services. "By working with the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium, we are able to provide our program attendees with the additional benefit of security certification credits."
Attendees of Symantec Webcasts and Seminars will receive one CPE credit per hour of participation. Symantec's Webcasts typically last one hour, while Symantec Seminars usually last three hours. (ISC)2 will award members who register for and attend the following upcoming Symantec Webcasts and Seminars with CPE credits: HIPPA (January 30), Deepsight Threat Management System (February 6), Internet Security Threat Report (February 13), Symantec Client Security (March 6), and Policy Compliance (March 20).
