Symantec's Norton Internet Security and pcAnywhere Outpace Competition to Win SC Magazine Recommended Awards

Symantec Products Stand Tall Among 14 E-mail Security and Nine Remote Access Vendors

CUPERTINO, Calif. - February 27, 2003 - Symantec Corp. (NASDAQ: SYMC), the world leader in Internet security, today announced that Norton Internet Security 2003 and pcAnywhere 10.5 have been awarded SC Magazine's premier review marks - perfect five-star ratings. Announced in the February issue, SC Magazine review experts capped the accolades by giving the products its coveted "Recommended" status.

SC Magazine also awarded Symantec's pcAnywhere 10.5 five stars in the following categories: features, ease of use, performance, documentation and support. In addition, product reviewers commended the security functions that have been integrated in this version of pcAnywhere. The Symantec remote control product provides not only authentication, but also a remote access perimeter scanner to verify that secure connections are made with secure hosts.

In addition to the added security functionality, pcAnywhere 10.5 aids IT administration in installations and helpdesk productivity. It allows administrators to access servers from a remote location, while also providing users with fast, easy access to any PC.
