CUPERTINO, Calif. - March 10, 2003 - Symantec Corp. (Nasdaq: SYMC), the world leader in Internet security, today announced that three Symantec Internet security experts will be speaking at InfoSec World, March 10-12, at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort in Orlando, Fla.
Rob Clyde, Symantec's vice president and chief technology officer, will participate in the conference's opening panel "Risky Business: The Future of IT Security and Digital Risk" Tuesday, March 11, from 8:30 a.m. – 10 a.m. E.T. The panel will set the tone for the conference and discuss the current state of IT security, the evolution of cyber-attacks, new technologies that help to achieve maximum security and security best practices.
Tim Mather, senior director of information security at Symantec, will present "Securing Instant Messaging and Peer-to-Peer Networks" from 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. E.T. on Tuesday, March 11. His presentation will discuss peer-to-peer models, associated risks and what organizations can do to mitigate that risk.
On Wednesday, March 12 from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. E.T. Brian Hernacki, security architect at Symantec, will present "Hack Attacks: Understanding Security Threat Lifecycles." The presentation will review recent attacks and vulnerabilities and their lifecycles.
InfoSec World, sponsored by the MIS Training Institute, is an annual event dedicated to information security. The event features industry experts discussing the latest security topics, providing live demonstrations and participating in panel discussions.
