Symantec CTO to Keynote at ISACA'S CACS Conference

Security Expert to Speak about Legal Skills for Audit Professionals

CUPERTINO, Calif. - May 20, 2003 - Symantec Corp. (Nasdaq:SYMC), the world leader in Internet security, today announced that Rob Clyde, Symantec vice president and chief technology officer, will give a luncheon keynote at ISACA's North America Conference on Computer Audit, Control and Security. His presentation is scheduled for Tuesday, May 20, at 12:30 p.m. CT at the Adam's Mark Hotel in Houston, TX. Larry Dietz, Symantec's director of North American enterprise marketing, will give a presentation titled "Legal Skills for Audit Professionals" Thursday, May 22, at 10:30 a.m. CT

Clyde's keynote will discuss the importance of information security governance and the crucial role played by IT audit, control, security and assurance professionals. As chief technology officer, Rob Clyde sets the technology vision and strategy for Symantec and leads Symantec Research Labs.

Dietz's presentation will discuss legal issues concerning corporate governance, information security liability, intellectual property protection, and security due diligence mandated by new laws and regulation. Dietz is a licensed attorney and has more than 30 years of diversified military and commercial information operations experience.
