CUPERTINO, Calif. - June 2, 2003 - Symantec Corp. (Nasdaq: SYMC), the world leader in Internet security, today announced that John Schwarz, Symantec's president and chief operating officer, and Art Wong, vice president, Symantec Security Response, will participate in panel discussions at SUPERCOMM at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.
Schwarz will participate in a panel as part of the International Engineering Consortium's (IEC) Executive Forum at SUPERCOMM. The panel, "Mobile Data and Internet: The Quantum Leap" is scheduled for Tuesday, June 3, from 2:15 p.m. - 4:15 p.m. in the Georgia Ballroom 1 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.
In his presentation Schwarz will discuss the emergence of wireless threats, the importance of viewing wireless as an extension of the wired network, and the need for the industry to build security into wireless offerings. As president and chief operating officer Schwarz is responsible for Symantec's product development, incident response, sales, support, professional services, marketing and partner relationships.
Wong will participate in the Enterprise Security and Network Solutions Panel as part of the Industry Update Sessions track today from 10 a.m. - 11: 30 a.m. Wong will present "Early Warning Solutions: Looking into Future Trends and Mitigating Current Threats to the Enterprise Network." As a member of the panel, Wong will discuss the issues and capabilities surrounding security and business assurance in enterprise communications. As vice president of Symantec Security Response, Wong directs the vision, strategy and growth of Symantec's response to global Internet Security threats.
