Symantec Offers Webcasts on California SB 1386 Regarding Public Disclosure of Cyber Security Breaches

CUPERTINO, Calif. - July 9, 2003 - Symantec Corp., (Nasdaq: SYMC) the world leader in Internet security, today announced that it will offer two Webcasts providing information to Symantec customers and the public about California Senate Bill 1386 (SB 1386), which mandates that companies disclose publicly when customer information stored on their networks has been accessed in an unauthorized manner.

The two Webcasts, both entitled “Understanding the California Breach Law – It’s Not Just For California Companies,” are scheduled for 11 a.m. ET and 2 p.m. ET on Thursday, July 10, 2003. Attendees may register at Adam Rak, Manager of Government Relations for Symantec, will conduct the Webcasts.
