Thompson, Symantec's chairman and chief executive officer, will deliver a keynote address at the Air Force Information Technology Conference (AFITC) in Montgomery, Ala. Thompson's keynote is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 25, from 10:15 to 11 a.m. CT at the Montgomery Civic Center.
The theme of AFITC 2003 is "Transforming the Air Force for Network-Centric Warfare." In his speech Thompson will discuss the role of information assurance programs and procedures as key enablers of next-generation information systems offering enhanced collaboration and spanning all aspects of Air Force missions, locations and personnel. Thompson will also outline opportunities for expanded military/industry partnerships in meeting mutual security challenges.
The Air Force Information Technology Conference, sponsored by the Standard Systems Group, Maxwell Air Force Base, Gunter Annex, Alabama, is targeted for computer users, application developers, and technology managers from across the Air Force who identify and define requirements for information technology capabilities of tomorrow. The conference allows DOD personnel to stay current on the latest technologies and to learn of future industry offerings and advances.
