CUPERTINO, Calif. - Nov. 5, 2003 - Symantec Corp. (Nasdaq: SYMC), the world leader in Internet security, today announced it will host a Webcast titled, "Gramm-Leach-Bliley and Information Security: the Road to Compliance." This Webcast is aimed at senior executives in small and mid-tier financial service organizations dealing with regulatory and security challenges. It will be held Thursday, Nov. 6 at 9 a.m. PST. Attendees can register at http://enterprisesecurity.symantec.com/content/webcastinfo.cfm?webcastid=70.
Bruce Moulton, vice president of information security business strategy at Symantec, will lead the Webcast discussing how the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) continues to pose significant challenges to the financial sector. Small and mid-tier financial service organizations are finding particular challenges as they make strategic security decisions, set security policies, and seek to demonstrate regulatory compliance. Moulton will provide the steps that these organizations should take to ensure the security and privacy of sensitive information.
"By understanding and responding to GLBA requirements, financial service organizations are also addressing critical aspects of other regulatory standards," said Moulton. "And once they've acted upon this security knowledge, executives can focus with greater confidence on the bottom line."
Moulton is a recognized leader in the information security profession specializing in the financial services sector.
