Symantec CEO to Speak at Eastern Technology Council Event

John W. Thompson to Participate in Influential 'Titans of Technology' Series

CUPERTINO, Calif. – Sept. 27, 2004 - Symantec Corp. (Nasdaq: SYMC), the global leader in information security, today announced that John W. Thompson, Symantec's chairman and chief executive officer, will speak at the prestigious Eastern Technology Council "Titans of Technology" breakfast series on Wednesday, Sept. 29. The breakfast begins at 7:30 a.m. ET and Thompson will speak at 8:35 a.m. ET.

In his presentation, Thompson will describe how technology has transformed business and government in the 21st century and will outline the risks and realities that technology brings. In addition, Thompson will also explain how organizations must secure and manage their information and networks.
