Symantec CEO To Participate In Panel At CNBC DC Summit

CUPERTINO, Calif. – Nov. 15, 2004 - Symantec Corp. (Nasdaq:SYMC), the global leader in information security, today announced that John W. Thompson, Symantec's chairman and chief executive officer, will speak at the CNBC DC Summit in Washington, D.C.

Thompson will participate in the technology panel entitled "Security, Software and Innovation" on Wednesday, Nov. 17, from 10:15 a.m. - 11:15 a.m. ET. The panel will discuss topics such as industry consolidation, innovation, venture capital funding, competition, security and privacy.

This year, CNBC's Annual Washington DC Summit, "Outlook 2005" will focus on the post-election changes that will take place in the political and business environments over the next year. The CNBC Annual Washington DC Summit draws together leaders from the business, financial and policy communities.
