Symantec Security Expert To Speak At Bank Technology Convention

CUPERTINO, Calif. - April 4, 2005 - Symantec Corp. (NASDAQ: SYMC), the global leader in information security, today announced that David Miner, director of financial services strategies and solutions for Symantec, will speak at the ABA Bank Technology Convention, April 6-8, at the Peabody Hotel in Memphis, Tenn.

Miner will participate in two sessions focusing on fraud prevention and management, including:

  • Online Fraud Management: Strategies to Retain Trust and Minimize Risk, will be held on Thursday, April 7, from 8 - 9 a.m. ET. This session will discuss the importance of retaining customer trust in an environment where loss or theft of customer information is making headlines. This session will explore the growing online fraud business issue and what financial services organizations can do to retain customers' trust and minimize their own risk to online fraud scams.
  • Fraud and ID Theft Prevention, will be held on Thursday, April 7, from 3:15 - 4:30 p.m. ET. The roundtable discussion will examine the growing urgency surrounding fraud and identity theft that can impact the financial service organization's bottom line and reputation. To combat this growing threat, financial services organizations need to take action now. The session will outline best practice countermeasures, as well as outline how to build a framework for ongoing success.
