Symantec Launches Rebate Program to Reward SMB Partners for Commitment, Achievement

New offering the latest in a growing portfolio of programs focused on helping ensure partner success in the SMB market

CUPERTINO, Calif. – Oct. 18, 2007 – Symantec Corp. (Nasdaq: SYMC) today announced the Aspire Rebate Program designed to not only reward Symantec partners for their commitment and achievement but also to help them grow their businesses. Now available to eligible Symantec Channel Silver and Registered Partners in North America, this new program augments Symantec’s expanding portfolio of partner offerings that provide organizations significant economic benefits for increasing their sales of qualifying Symantec products, particularly to Small and Mid-sized businesses (SMB).

Through the Aspire Rebate Program, participants can earn a 10 percent rebate on all eligible product sales made over and above their target revenue goal. In addition, Symantec partners who earn the new SMB Specialization can earn an exclusive 15 percent rebate when exceeding their assigned revenue goal.

“Our Aspire Rebate and other programs enable Symantec to demonstrate its commitment to our valued SMB channel partners and provide them opportunities to enjoy increased profitability and success in today’s highly competitive marketplace,” said Randy Cochran, vice president of Channel Sales in North America. “Symantec will continue to invest in and recognize its partners and help them take advantage of our industry-leading information security and storage management solutions, services and expertise to build their businesses.”

With the Small and Mid-sized business market comprising the largest number of businesses worldwide— 8 million in North America, according to IDC—and worldwide IT spending in security and storage software of more than $14.6 billion, it offers potentially lucrative opportunities for Symantec resellers.

“Symantec’s new Aspire Rebate Program opens a window of opportunity for us to more frequently pursue SMB customers,” said Carl Jarrett, president of KeyTech Services. “With the incentives provided in the new program, we will be rewarded for working with SMB customers to provide them with Symantec’s industry-leading SMB solutions. The benefits offered in the program will allow KeyTech Services to compete in new and innovative ways.”

The Aspire Rebate Program follows Symantec’s launch last month of the SMB Specialization Program designed to recognize partners’ expertise in the fast-growing SMB market segment and reward their training investment in Symantec solutions for SMB customers. The Aspire Rebate Program is now open and ends on March 28, 2008. Eligible North American partners who are enrolled in the Symantec Partner Program at the Registered and Silver levels can participate and register for the program. Resellers who are not currently members of the Symantec Partner Program can also enroll in Aspire and become eligible for rebates by becoming members of the Symantec Partner Program prior to the end of the promotional period.

Registration for the Aspire Rebate Program is now open and closes on Jan. 31, 2008. To register or learn more about the Aspire Rebate Program and view a list of eligible products, visit or email Symantec at
