VeriSign Enters Partnership with dz card to Deliver Authentication Services in Asia Pacific

Leading Card Company to Manufacture and Resell VeriSign® Identity Protection and VeriSign® Unified Authentication Services

Bangkok, Thailand – 22 April, 2009 - VeriSign, Inc. (NASDAQ: VRSN), the trusted provider of Internet infrastructure services for the networked world, today announced an agreement with dz card International Ltd., a leading card company, to manufacture and resell a range of advanced authentication services to protect businesses and consumers from online fraud in Asia.

Under the new agreement, dz card will manufacture credit card sized authentication credentials and resell the VeriSign® Identity Protection (VIP) and VeriSign® Unified Authentication Services in Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and the Philippines. dz card supplies more than 500 million plastic cards annually to customers all over the world.

Based on open standards, the VIP Authentication Service is deployed across a network, which means consumers can use a single security device to authenticate themselves across any VIP-enabled Web site. By leveraging a shared security and logistics infrastructure, VIP makes it simpler, faster and more cost-effective for businesses to implement stronger authentication for their online customers.

The VeriSign Unified Authentication Service provides strong authentication for a business to control access to its VPN and intranet, and secure applications for its partners and mobile workforce. One-time password (OTP) generators support strong authentication for users who connect from outside secure networks, often using their own equipment. By providing a device like a security card to authorised users, business IT departments have more options to control access.

"With the current volatility in the economic landscape globally, we see more than ever the need for businesses to take proactive steps to protecting their customers online" said Jørgen Schmidt, President and CEO of dz card. "We look forward to working with VeriSign and seeing the benefits of these services for our customers."

"dz card brings a wealth of experience and success in the card manufacturing business with a strong presence in Asia," said Armando Dacal, director of Global Channels and Asia Pacific Sales for VeriSign. "With this partnership, we can now offer our services to a number of the emerging Asian markets who seek proven security tools to establish their customers trust online."
