MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA (Marketwire) - VeriSign, Inc. (NASDAQ: VRSN), the trusted provider of Internet infrastructure services for the networked world, has been named a finalist in four categories within the Reader Trust Award portion of the 2010 SC Magazine Awards program, which recognizes outstanding achievement in information technology (IT) security.

SC Magazine's Reader Trust Award honors best-in-class security products and services. VeriSign was named a finalist in the following four categories:

VeriSign's products and services were selected from more than 650 entries submitted in more than 31 technology categories. Winners will be chosen by a panel of readers that represent the circulation of SC Magazine. The Reader Trust Voting Panel includes a cross-section of SC Magazine readership that is comprised of large, medium and small enterprises from all major vertical markets. Voters take into consideration the functionality, manageability, ease-of-use and scalability of the product or service, as well as the customer service and support provided for it.

"VeriSign Code Signing, Personal Identity Portal, VeriSign Identity Protection and VeriSign Extended Validation SSL are among today's most respected security products as chosen by our panel," said SC Magazine Editor-in-Chief Illena Armstrong. "Security is a key challenge for IT organizations and businesses worldwide and our readers recognize that companies such as VeriSign are helping them meet their security challenges."

The annual SC Awards have recognized security's key contributors and outstanding products for more than a decade. As the industry's preeminent awards program, individuals, brands and products short listed address not only the challenges prominent today, but also the emerging threat landscape of tomorrow.
