Constellation Energy Uses Clearwell for Company-wide E-Discovery

Company Achieves Lower Costs, Reduced Risks and Greater Control Over E-Discovery Process with Clearwell E-Discovery Platform

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. – January 18, 2010 – Clearwell Systems, Inc., a leader in intelligent e-discovery, today announced that Constellation Energy (NYSE: CEG), a leading provider of energy products and services, is expanding the use of the Clearwell E-Discovery Platform. Constellation Energy’s legal and IT teams use Clearwell to lower costs, reduce risks and gain control of the entire e-discovery process.

"The Clearwell E-Discovery Platform has enabled us to proactively address the e-discovery challenge and we have been pleased with the results," said John Corse, Associate Group Counsel at Constellation Energy. "As a result, Clearwell has become an important product at Constellation Energy in managing our e-discovery efforts."

The Clearwell E-Discovery Platform is fully operational in less than 25 minutes and provides users with immediate visibility into case facts, significantly accelerating early case assessment. Clearwell’s Transparent Search, metadata filters and people analytics enable users to quickly and defensibly eliminate irrelevant documents and false positives, lowering processing costs and reducing review workload. The product’s discussion threading and concept clustering capabilities display documents in context, further increasing review throughput.

Clearwell’s review capabilities enable reviewers to perform one-click tagging, redact documents, apply reason codes, and verify redactions prior to production. Responsive documents can be produced or seamlessly uploaded into litigation support databases via EDRM-compliant XML and other major load file formats. In addition, the Clearwell E-Discovery Platform automatically tracks all actions on case documents throughout the e-discovery workflow, ensuring a defensible e-discovery process.

"Corporations of all sizes and across all industries must consider the impact e-discovery can have on their budgets," said Kamal Shah, VP of marketing and product management at Clearwell Systems. "Constellation Energy was one of the first of the more than 350 corporations and government agencies that are using the Clearwell E-Discovery Platform to deliver hard-dollar cost savings and triple-digit return on investment to their organizations everyday."
