Amit Walia

Vice President of Product Management, Information Management Group

Amit Walia is the Vice President of Product Management for Symantec’s Information Management Group. In this role, Walia is responsible for the business strategy, product planning, and go-to-market strategy for the small and mid-sized business market, specifically the Backup Exec product family. In addition, Walia leads Symantec’s cloud strategy across its backup and archiving solutions.

Most recently, Amit served as the global Vice President of Symantec’s Enterprise Services that included Consulting, Education, Managed Security Services, and Business Continuity Services. He led a global technical and sales organization focusing on new offerings, alignment with product groups and sales organizations, customer Net Promoter Score, and employee development. Amit joined Symantec in 2006 and has been responsible for Business Development, M&A, strategy, and operations execution in his previous roles.

Prior to Symantec, Amit worked at McKinsey & Company, providing leadership, judgment, and problem solving expertise to the top management of major technology corporations.

Amit has an MBA in Strategy and Economics from Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University. He received his bachelor of science degree from the Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University.
