Gerry Egan

Director, Symantec Security Technology and Response

Gerry Egan is a director of product management for the Security Technology and Response Group at Symantec. Egan’s team supports a worldwide group of security engineers, threat analysts and researchers that provide the underlying functionality, content and support for Symantec’s corporate and consumer security products. Egan manages and orchestrates the delivery of industry-leading solutions that help individuals and enterprises secure and protect their information.

Prior to joining the STAR group, Egan was a member of the Advanced Concepts team at Symantec where his primary role was to identify, develop and test market new technologies. Egan is known for being hands-on and collaborative with engineering teams to ensure project requirements are in place, deliverables are met and the customer base has the security software they require.

Before Egan joined Symantec in December 2004, he was Co-Founder and President of Lumos Technologies Inc, which was acquired by Micromuse, Inc., a Santa Monica based firm.

Egan earned a B.A. in mathematics and a B.E. in computer engineering from the University of Dublin, Trinity College.
