David Roux

Co-Founder and Managing Director, Silver Lake Partners

David Roux joined Symantec's board of directors following the company's merger with VERITAS Software in July 2005. Roux had served on the VERITAS board of directors since 2002.

Roux has extensive operating and acquisition experience in the technology sector. Prior to founding Silver Lake Partners, he served as the chief executive officer and president of Liberate Technologies, a software platform provider.

From 1994 to 1998, Roux was executive vice president of corporate development at Oracle Corporation. In this role he was responsible for business development, mergers and acquisitions, technology licensing, and equity investments. He was also a member of Oracle's Executive Committee and the Product Management Committee.

Roux currently serves on the board of directors of Thomson S.A. and a number of private companies.
