Dr. Anand Kashyap is a Researcher in the Core Research group of Symantec Research Labs in Mountain View, CA. He currently does research in computer networking, mobile computing, and the application of machine learning to these fields. Dr. Kashyap received his B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering from IIT Kanpur in 2002 and his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Stony Brook University in 2008.
Dr. Kashyap's research involves analytical and empirical modeling, algorithm design, and building complex systems in the form of testbeds and prototypes. His Ph.D. explored techniques for measurement-based modeling of interference in Wi-Fi networks. Dr. Kashyap has worked as a research intern at NEC Labs America (Princeton, NJ), and at Microsoft Research Labs in India. Prior to starting his Ph.D., Dr. Kashyap worked for a year as an R&D Engineer at Tejas Networks in India, building software for network provisioning in optical networks.
