Kevin Roundy is a Researcher at Symantec Research Labs in Culver City, CA. He completed a Ph.D. in Computer Science at the University of Wisconsin in the Spring of 2012. He also holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Brigham Young University, with an emphasis on machine learning techniques. His masters work expanded into data mining and database research. For his Ph.D. research, he decided to focus on security work, and his Ph.D. dissertation titled “Hybrid Analysis and Control of Malicious Code” developed static and dynamic analysis techniques with which to analyze malware programs. Since joining Symantec in May 2012, Kevin has been working on advanced malware detection techniques.
