Linda Mitchell joined the SRL research team in Dublin, Ireland in 2011. She received her Master's degree in Translation Studies from Dublin City University in 2011 and her Bachelor's degree in Information Technology and English from National University Ireland, Galway in 2010.
Her Ph.D. research focuses on the feasibility of post-editing user-generated content that has been machine translated in the Norton Forums. Concepts of interest are quality of the post-edited output, user acceptance of the end-product and user motivation to post-edit machine translated output, which are essential to facilitating post-editing successfully. In addition to conducting her Ph.D. research in Symantec she is also part of the FP7 funded ACCEPT project, which aims at sharing information online more effectively across the language barrier.
