New Features
Veritas Storage Foundation for Oracle RAC new features includes support for 11g RAC, storage mapping for clustered database, support for upto 8 nodes on Solaris, and enhancements to cluster volume manager and file system.
Support for Oracle 11g RAC
This release introduces functionality to support the latest 11g release of Oracle RAC database. Enhancements have been to co-ordinate with new feature enhancements like Oracle Cluster Ready Services and other cluster membership modules.

Storage Mapping
Storage Mapping enables DBA to identify and remove I/O bottlenecks by mapping database objects down the storage hierarchy to the physical disks. Access to mapping information allows for a detailed understanding of the storage hierarchy in which files reside. This information is critical to effectively evaluate I/O performance.

Disaster Recovery support option for Oracle RAC
Current release of Storage Foundation for RAC supports wide area failover of Oracle RAC database incliding enhanced disaster recovery capabilities with add on options like Veritas Global Cluster Option (GCO) and Veritas Volume Replicator (VVR) across all supported operating systems.

Database FlashSnap
Volume based snapshots with a wrapper for Oracle RAC databases, included with Storage Foundation for Oracle RAC, enables administrators to set up reusable point-in-time copy policies, verify storage resources, and create full online database volume clones and space-saving file system checkpoints with minimal impact on production applications.
