How do I improve the performance of the Microsoft Load Balancer* with Recovery Solution?
Answer
Internal tests have discovered the following two performance tips:
- Snapshot performance can be up to three times faster when "Single" affinity used instead of "None" affinity. Open Add/Edit port rule dialog in the Cluster Properties and go to Filtering mode. Set Affinity to Single.
- Recovery Solution performance can also be increased when Microsoft Load Balancer is configured to operate in Multicast mode. Go to Cluster Properties > Cluster Parameters > Cluster operation mode and set to "Multicast."
