Description



Event console can execute tasks in response to a received alert. A single alert can trigger multiple, independent tasks. If multiple tasks must be performed in order, you can combine these tasks into a job.

When a Task Rule launches a task or job, an exhaustive set of input parameters can be generated from the alert data and passed into the task. For more information about task input parameters, see topics about Receiving task input properties in the Symantec Management Platform User's Guide.

An alert can pass the following input parameters:

The GUID of the alert category in the PPA_AlertCategory table of the Altiris database.

%!ALERTDEFINITIONGUID!%

The GUID of the alert definition in the PPA_AlertDefinition table of the Altiris database.

%!ALERTGUID!%

The GUID of the alert in the ec_alert table of the Altiris database.

%!ALERTHOSTNAME!%

The hostname or IP address of the resource that raised the alert.

%!ALERTMESSAGE!%

The message text of the alert.

%!ALERTPRODUCTGUID!%

The GUID of the product (in the case of a solution) that raised the alert.

%!ALERTPROTOCOLGUID!%

The GUID of the protocol that raised the alert in the PPA_AlertProtocol table of the Altiris database.

%!ALERTRESOURCEGUID!%

The GUID of the NS Resource that raised the alert.

%!ALERTSEVERITYLEVEL!%

The enumeration value which represents the severity of the alert.

  • Critical = 50
  • Major = 40
  • Warning = 30
  • Informational = 20
  • Undetermined = 10
  • Normal = 0

%!ALERTTIMESTAMP!%

The date and time the alert was raised

%!ALERTVARIABLE!%

The variable name. Each variable from the alert is passed where "variable_name" is the name of the variable and the value is the variable value string.
