Symantec Workflow provides advanced logic and workflow capability to Notification Server and the Symantec solutions. It lets you use pre-built workflow and workflow packs, and also lets you build custom workflow processes.

Installation
The following sections provide information that pertains to installing Workflow 7.0.
WARNING:
You can disrupt currently-running Workflow 6.5 processes by installing Workflow 7.0. During installation, remember to use the same persistence settings (Exchange, SQL Server) that Workflow 6.5 is currently using in your environment.
Hardware Prerequisites
The hardware requirements for Workflow match standard ASP.NET runtime requirements. The following minimum hardware configuration is recommended:
Workflow Designer
- 2 GHZ processor
- 1 GB of free disk space
- 3 GB RAM
Workflow Server
- Dual processor
- 4 GB RAM
Software Prerequisites
The prerequisites for installing Workflow are as follows:
- Symantec Management Platform 7.0 SP1, Hotfix 1 or greater
- Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5
- Symantec Management Platform Webservice 7.0.55
- Symantec Administrator ASDK 7.0.293
The prerequisite for installing Workflow Server is as follows
- Microsoft IIS* 5.x or 6.x
The prerequisites for installing Workflow Designer are as follows
- Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5
- Workflow Server (Workflow Server is installed automatically during Workflow Designer installation)
- Microsoft IIS 5.x or 6.x.
The prerequisites for installing Process Manager are as follows:
- Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5
- Microsoft IIS 5.x or 6.x
- Microsoft SQL Server database 2005 or SQL Express
- Workflow Server (Workflow Server is installed automatically during Workflow Designer installation)

Fixes in this release
- "SessionID not found" returned during Process Manager log on.
- A cloned Dialog component causes exception on task due to aggressive null checking on debugger. Exception has been moved to log so debugging can continue.
- Altiris Report Generator is not passing variables in WFS6.5 when report variable is in camel case lettering
- Approval Workflow component displays blank page when anonymous is disabled
- Cannot get definitions from table X. Error message: Item has already been added. Key in dictionary: 'Guid' Key being added: 'Guid'. prevent PK/Identity hashtbls from double adding
- Changing output paths from Required to Optional has inconsistent results
- Could not connect to DS at <servername> when configuring DS Credentials Plug-in
- CreateDSCredentials component does not support DS security
- Designer error: System.ArgumentException: Parameter is not valid. When zooming on designer on Windows Vista
- Exception caught with Monitor Project Data Formatter
- Find Service Desk Contact component generates error if the contact name includes an apostrophe
- License lookup uses proxy settings
- Link Button Component does not show processing message
- Object reference not set to an instance of an object - Performance Counters
- ProcessManager menu function fails on remote browsers
- ProcessManager password changes not working
- SSL connection to Notification Server
- Table Generator duplicates entries for views in the "Table or view" dropdown

Known Issues in this Release

All processes will be broken until updated with 7.0 components and republished to the 7.0 platform server.
