Before installing Task Server on any version of Windows 2008, you must do the following:

The options you need to enable when installing the web services role are:

    • IIS6 compatibility tools

    • Windows Authentication
  2. After installing the web services role, run the following command (you MUST do this before installing task server, not after, otherwise the Task Server will not function):

%systemroot%\system32\inetsrv\appcmd set app "Default Web Site/" /applicationPool:"Classic .NET AppPool"
