CORRECTION:
Note that on page 18 of the attached PDF, the "Installing Barcode software on the host computer and on the handheld device" topic says that you should install Microsoft SQL Server Compact 3.5 SP1 for Windows Desktop or greater on your host computer. However, if you have installed a greater version of Microsoft SQL Server Compact for Windows Desktop, the installation of Barcode Manager will fail.
So, the correct list of components is as follows:
- Microsoft ActiveSync 4.5 (on Windows XP computers) or Microsoft Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1 Driver for Windows Vista (on Windows 7 computers)
- Microsoft SQL Server Compact 3.5 SP1 for Windows Desktop
- Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 or greater
