In all versions, the following sentence is incorrect:
"If you remove the trusted_certs from the remote computer, then ensure that you restart the pcAnywhere services to get the new certificates when you connect to the host."

The correct sentence is as follows:
“If you remove the trusted certificates from the remote computer or the host computer, then ensure that you restart the pcAnywhere services to regenerate the certificates.”

In all versions except English, the following items are also incorrect:

  • In the topic “pcA Quick connect,” the Deployment field row should be removed.
  • The topic “Securing host and remotes computer connections” should contain the following sentences:

“If the host properties of the computer are configured with Prompt to confirm connection then for the Windows host, the Remote Connection Attempted dialog box is displayed containing the name of the remote user who attempts to log on. For the same configuration, on the Linux host and the Mac host, the pcAnywhere - Host Confirm dialog box is displayed. This dialog box displays the name of the remote user who tries to log on for the Linux host whereas for the Mac host the dialog box does not display the remote user name.”

  • In the topics “Connection settings for Windows thin hosts,” Connection settings for Linux thin hosts,” and “Connection settings for Mac thin hosts” the information in the Prompt to confirm connection field should be changed to the following:

“By default, this option is selected and the connection between the host and remote computers automatically disconnects after the set timeout period expires. The host user can accept or deny the connection. If you want to communicate with a remote computer where there is no user to confirm the connection, then you must use the Quick Deploy and Connect feature of pcAnywhere. In this scenario, ensure that the option, Prompt to confirm connection is not selected.”

  • In the topic “Host properties: Security options,” the information in the Disconnect if timeout field should be changed to the following:

“By default, this option is selected.”

  • In the topic “Quick Connect,” information for the Encryption level drop down list was added.
  • The topic “Calling a remote computer” was removed.
  • The topic “Waiting for a host connection” was removed.
  • The topic “Using pcA quick connect” was added.
  • In the topic “Using the Connection Wizard to configure a host connection,” steps 6 and 7 were removed.
  • In the topic “About package installation file locations,” the following sentence was removed:

“Preconfigured package and product installation files are stored in the Packages directory on the Symantec pcAnywhere CD.”

  • The topic “Remotes” should appear when you click F1 from the Remotes page.
