Description



This article provides information on Windows 8 support in Ghost Solution Suite 2.5.1.
NOTE: The Ghost Solution Suite 2.5.1 UEFI Package partially supports the UEFI based computers.The files that are present in the package are designed to work with WinPE 4.0 and are not designed to replace the files that are present in the Ghost Solution Suite. The following commands are not supported:

  • GhConfig32.exe /w=[windows installation] nics
    This command does not display all the network interface controllers’ information.
     

The following commands are supported:

  • Ghconfig32.exe windows
    The command displays correct information about the SR partition and OS partitions.
  • GhConfig32 /translate=1.1
    The command successfully generates the drvTrans.txt file that translates the dot notation.
  • GhConfig32 /translate=c
    The command where ‘c’ is the disk name, generates the  drvTrans.txt file that translates the dot notation.

On installing GSS on a Windows  8 computer, the following error message is displayed:
You are installing on an unsupported OS.

After you continue with the installation, the GBW, console and other components are launched successfully.
